Lesson
6
Mt:16:18:
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock
I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it.
Building takes
solid foundation. Jesus is the best, most solid rock. There are
many interpretations of this simple verse. To me, I see Jesus looking
Peter straight in the eye and saying, "Peter, you are a little stone,
a pebble. Surely no one would build with a pebble for a foundation
stone. But, Peter, I am a huge rock on which you can depend. And,
Peter, if you can put your stone on My rock, you will make it. Nothing
will keep you from succeeding. Go for it, Peter. You can do it.
I will be there undergirding you all the way."
ACT! Take out
your worst mistake this week and write it down. Now envision the
rock of Christ underneath it. Write yourself a note. "Self, my mistake
is so small compared to Jesus, who is so big. He can handle it.
He can forgive and does forgive you. Forget it self. You are unable
to dent that rock. He is still standing for me."
PRAY! Father,
wow! The rock of Jesus is bigger than all my problems. He is too
big to fall when I fail. Thanks.
