Lesson
of the Day
The
Ephesians Prayer For The Saints
FULL SALVATION
Ephesians:1:16: Cease not to give thanks for all of these, making
mention of them in our prayers;
17: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory (expressed
divine image, will, and presence), may give unto them and us the
spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18: The eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that we may
know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the
glory (expressed divine image, will, and presence) of his inheritance
in the saints ,
19: And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward
who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20: Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21: Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in
that which is to come:
22: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the
head over all things to the church
23: Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.
In our prayers for the saints, let's remember those who need all
of salvation. Surely that means all of us; however, there are those
that need a miraculous touch from God. They need an intervention
from the throne of heaven for a specific situation.
It is our faith
coupled with the faith of others that can make life happen for them.
The fundamental
idea contained in the English word salvation, and the Latin salvatio
and Greek soteria from which it derives, is that of saving or delivering
from some dire situation" ENCYCLOPÆDIA
BRITANNICA
"The first petition we are to make to God Almighty is for a good
conscience, the next for health of mind, and then of body." Lucius
Seneca
Discerning Power
Proverbs 3: 21: My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep
sound wisdom and discretion:
22: So shall
they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23: Then shalt
thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24: When thou
liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down,
and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25: Be not afraid
of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it
cometh.
26: For the
LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being
taken.
Discerning
the power available to us for a task is an immense benefit in prayer.
What
is it you are trying to appropriate for another?
How big is it
in your eyes and in your faith? Can you quantify it? Can you see
it?
Discerning
what is available for the task ahead many times sets our sights.
Father,
help us to discern the greatness of the power that is focused toward
us in all situations.
Miracles
Yes, there is power for miracles. There is power enough to create
new life in old situations. There is power enough to cause a tornado
to turn a different direction or calm a sea tossed by winds. There
is power enough to keep an airplane in the air and another auto
from crashing into mine.
Healings
There is power for healings. There is power enough for causing incurable
disease to leave. There is power enough for a dead and withered
hand to come back to life and be useful.
Some years ago, a young child with a curvature in the bones of his
arm was brought for prayer. It was amazing to watch and feel the
bone straighten under the power of prayer.
Supernatural Wisdom and Insight
Knowing
what to do at just the right time takes power, it takes full salvation.
There is power enough for wisdom and insight.
Situational
Shifts
All around us are circumstances, economic situations, angry people,
and other unconquerable enigmas. Full salvation means God intervening
with His power is those and bringing them to bless us.
Authority
The ability to speak life into a situation is real and necessary
at times. It can seem dead and unresponsive. Maybe a barren womb
needs the ability to author life. Maybe a person needs the strength
to step into a new chapter in career and "author" a new path for
themselves. They need authority. Maybe in our prayer, we need to
realized we have authority, the commissioning to speak new life
and see it come to full fruit, for a friend.
Taking Inventory on Full Salvation
Who around you needs a powerful intervention? Who needs deliverance
from a dire situation? Do they need a miracle, healing, supernatural
wisdom and insight, a situational shift, or authority?
Taking Action on Full Salvation
Write
down their names in the blank below the verses in section two. Begin
to pray. Take time to listen to God for what part of salvation they
need. Look to what is available in Him and appropriate for them.
Prayer for Full Salvation
Father, Your salvation in Jesus is complete deliverance from every
dire situation. You are full of peace, joy, love, healing, miracles,
wisdom, righteousness, strength, and forgiveness. All we need is
available in You. My friends need that knowledge and experience,
Father. They need to know You in Your fullness. You are Lord of
all areas of life. You are King of all that is to be reigned over.
You are Almighty, Magnificent, Awesome, and Superb in Your ability
and willingness to intervene. Release Your power, Father, on my
behalf and behalf of those I bring before Your throne.
