Lesson
of the Day
2
Corinthians 1:2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those
in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from
God. (NIV)
Comfort.
The word even sounds comforting, soothing, smoothing, and relaxing.
"Get comfortable," we tell guests who grace our homes.
"Relax," the doctor tells the frightened child.
"Grace and peace," the Father speaks to us in life.
In our journey as "carbon units" on this planet, there is plenty
of opportunity to have our comfort dis-ed. Isn't it reassuring to
know He is the God of all comfort? Isn't it strengthening to know
His comfort is poised and ready for any trouble? Isn't it incredible
that He gives us the ability to then extend that same supernatural
comfort to others?
Act Quick and Simple:
Today, speak a word of reassurance to someone in trouble.
Pray Quick and Simple:
Father, wow! Thanks for Your comfort. Let Your comfort pour all
over me. Let me pour Your comfort all over someone else. Enable
Your comfort in me.
