Lesson 14
Genesis 35

1 Then God said to Jacob, "Go up to Bethel and settle there, and build an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau." 2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes. 3 Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone."

Directions can shift. When the wind shifts to a new direction we need to take action. Jacob made a break here to a new way of living. First he abandoned old negative relationships (foreign gods).Next, Jacob did a thought transformation (purify). Thirdly, the people and Jacob changed appearances (clothes). They wanted to embrace the new way fully. Old mistakes needed to be abandoned.

ACT!
Change a relationship, a thought process, or an appearance that is tying you to an old way.

PRAY!
Father, let me be new. Let me be fresh. Show me what to let go. Show me what to take up. Help me be where you want me to be the way you want me to be with the right relationships, thoughts, and appearances
