Lesson
11
Psalm
15
3He who does
not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor
does he take up a reproach against his friend; 4In whose eyes a
vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the LORD;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5He who does
not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against
the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
Keeping commitments
means standing firm when challenged. It means only committing to
what you intend to do. It means sacrifice. It doesn't mean stupidly
following through to violation of values and principles and ethics.
Be reasonable. This commitment to stand to promises stands in the
context of living a principled life.
ACT!
Examine this
principle: Honor those that fear the Lord. Is it based on the scripture?
Does it hold true to life in all circumstances? Does it build you
up when you live by it? Does it need changed?
PRAY!
Father build
into me an honor of others that fear You. Show me how to act that
out. Help me to make good commitments and keep them even when they
hurt and cost me.
